What we build

Software built around your actual work

Most business software problems are not a missing product. They are a specific workflow that does not fit anything you can buy, so people paper over the gap with spreadsheets, retyping, and memory.

That gap is what we build into. We are a small shop, so we scope small and ship something usable early rather than disappearing for six months.

  • Web apps and internal tools shaped around how your work actually happens
  • Data pipelines: moving, cleaning, and connecting data so the busywork runs itself
  • AI agent systems with guardrails and human checkpoints where mistakes matter
  • Integrations between systems that were never designed to talk to each other
  • Serverless hosting that keeps running costs low with no server to maintain

How we work

Small, bounded, and yours at the end

We start with the smallest version that would genuinely be useful, put it in front of the people who do the work, and adjust from there. That order matters: software that was never used by a real user is not evidence of anything.

You get the code. We build on portable, standard technology so leaving is always possible. We would rather earn the next piece of work than hold your system hostage.

What we have actually shipped

Real, live software, built by us

We have no purchased case studies and we will not invent any. What we can point at is software we built that is running right now:

  • Zane's Watch — a free, offline-capable reporting tool for Cuyahoga County residents, built pro bono
  • Cleveland Maennerchor — a full website with events, galleries, rentals, and a members' area the club runs themselves
  • A Smarter Day — a daily-card progressive web app
  • AI Recommendation Audit — a scanner that checks whether AI assistants recommend a business, with accounts, a scan pipeline, and generated reports
  • HumanOS — our own early-stage wearable computing research

Common questions

What does custom software cost?

It depends entirely on scope, so we scope small on purpose. We would rather build one useful thing you can actually use in a few weeks than sell a six-month project. Tell us the problem and we will give you a fixed price for a first, bounded piece of it.

Who owns the code?

You do. We hand over the repository. We build on standard, portable technology specifically so you are not locked to us, and the serverless hosting we use typically costs very little to run.

What do you build things with?

Modern serverless infrastructure, most often on Cloudflare: web apps, APIs, databases, queues, and scheduled jobs. It keeps running costs low and means there is no server for anyone to patch or babysit after handover.

Do you do AI agent systems?

Yes, and with guardrails. Practical AI wired into a real workflow, with human checkpoints where a mistake would matter. We are more interested in a system that is reliable on your work than one that demos well.

Will you maintain it afterward?

We can, but you are not required to keep us. The point of handing over the code and using portable infrastructure is that you have a real choice.

Have something that does not fit off-the-shelf software?

Describe the workflow and where it breaks down. We will tell you honestly whether custom software is worth it, or whether something you can buy would do the job for less.
